Cranberry juice for Boosting Chickie Immunity

Cranberry juice for Boosting Chickie Immunity

I have been reading so much about the benefits of cranberry juice for poultry.  Unfortunately, many of the scientific studies were not continued due to funding and I found the results to be a bit difficult to read.  However, it seems that they all agree that cranberries are beneficial to poultry and may be a good way to reduce or eliminate antibiotics while increasing their natural immunity and defense systems.

"Cranberry is reported to have antibacterial, antiviral, antimutagenic, anticarcinogenic, antitumorigenic, antiangiogenic, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory activities associated with its phytochemical contents..."(Wu et al.,(Wu et al., 2004; Johnson-White et al., 2006; Côté et al., 2010; Blumberg et al., 2013; Diarra et al., 2013; Rodriguez-Pérez et al., 2016)(https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0032579119311150)

There is also a lot of good scientific information at theis website:  https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7858021/

Reading the above description of the phytochemical contents of cranberries convinced me to experiment with adding cranberry juice to my chickies drinking water.  I made my solution of cranberry juice from fresh organic cranberries that I cooked in my Instantpot with water and honey (chickies typically don't like bitter flavors in their water).

Let's see how they like cranberry water and the byproduct of the juicing...cranberries.
